Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) Provider Course

This 7hr interactive course will provide midwives with a hands on opportunity to utilize the knowledge learned from the 7th edition NRP texbook. By the end of the course midwives should be able to demonstrate the steps and skills required for NRP in a hospital and home birth settings.

Individuals will have an opportunity to discuss and practice:

  1. The inital steps of neonatal resuscitation

  2. Ventilation (PPV, CPAP)

  3. Chest compression

  4. Airway alternatives (intubation and LMA)

  5. Ubilical vein catheration (UVC) and Intraosseous Devices (IO)

  6. Medication

All indivudals will be required to successfully pass an exam that demonstrate the NRP skills. Individuals who successful complete the course and Megacode exam, will receive an NRP Provider ecard emailed from the Canadian Pediatric Society (CPS).
